Daniel

This 80-year-old former restaurateur from Wyoming was referred to us by the director of Serving Seniors’ home-delivered meals program for assistance with transportation issues.

Daniel has Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) which has advanced to the point where he often requires an oxygen concentrator. Due to the progressive nature of his disease, he is at high risk for hospitalization. He is very compliant with his doctors' instructions and attends outpatient cardiopulmonary therapy sessions regularly.

Able to intervene quickly and early to avoid complications.

For more than a year, he has managed to avoid any trips to the ER despite several acute exaccerbations because we’ve been able to quickly intervene and get him to his pulmonologist for stabilization. Recently, a small tumor was detected on one of his lungs (smoker for 50+ years), but the prognosis is good due to catching it early.

We will help transport him to a series of upcoming radiation treatments. As with all of our clients, we aim to assist him in continuing to live independently and remain out of the hospital.
